according to legend, the Gubbio wolf used to live. Inside one can see the stone on which, it is said, was sealed the pact between St. Francis and the wolf. In this church are kept the Ceri “mezzani” (“medium-sized”), as well as the small statues of St. Ubaldo, San Giorgio and Sant’Antonio which are placed on top of the Ceri during the famous May 15th celebrations. The painting entitled “Madonna and Child with Saints” is by Giovanni B. Michelini from Foligno.
